Después de que esta semana hemos conocido las nominaciones a los premios Feroz en que los títulos más nominados son las películas "Los domingos", "Sirat" y "Maspalomas" y las series "Poquita fe" y "Superestar", mañana domingo día 30 de noviembre se celebra la gala de los premios BIFA que reconoce el mejor cine independiente británico del año. Cabe recordar que el año pasado triunfó en estos premios "Kneecap".
En esta vigésima octava edición los títulos que obtuvieron más nominaciones son "La sombra de mi padre" con doce, "Pillion" con diez y "I swear" con nueve, así como "Urchin" y "Warfare: tiempo de guerra" con siete cada uno.
Creo que la coproducción nigeriana y británica "My father's shadow" de Akinola Davies Jr. tiene opciones de ganar en las categorías principales de mejor largometraje, guion, dirección novel y guionista debutante, aunque en mejor dirección podría ser premiado Kirk Jones por "I swear". Cabe decir que "Pillion" y "Urchin" también son películas muy estimables que merecerían ser reconocidas en alguna categoría.
Por lo que respecta a los apartados interpretativos, como mejor actuación principal solo hay una mujer candidata, Jennifer Lawrence, que no es británica pero tiene posibilidades de ser premiada aunque opto por Frank Dillane y también me gustaría que fuera premiado Harry Melling. Como mejor interpretación secundaria me decanto por Tom Blyth si bien hay que tener en cuenta al veterano Peter Mullan y a Alexander Skarsgard. Como mejor interpretación conjunta sobresale el tándem formado por las actrices Andrea Riseborough y Brenda Blethyn y como mejor intérprete revelación opto por Scott Ellis Watson aunque también podría ser premiada Posy Sterling.
Sobre otras categorías importantes, como mejor filme de no ficción destaca "Mother Vera" si bien también son dignos de ser premiados "Motherboard" y "A want in her", mientras que como mejor debut en documental me inclino por "A want in her". Como mejor largometraje internacional sobresale la coproducción francesa "Un simple accidente" y la noruega "Valor sentimental" y como mejor casting opto por "I swear".
En cuanto a los rubros técnicos, "Warfare" tiene posibilidades de obtener los correspondientes a mejor montaje, sonido y efectos, como mejor música podría ganar Steven Price, y como mejor vestuario los votantes podrían acordarse de "Pálida luz de la luna".
Por último, podemos apuntar que el premio Raindance Maverick es posible que recaiga en "A want in her".
