Ayer 15 de febrero se entregaron los AAFCA Awards (Asociación de Críticos de Cine Afroamericanos) que se anunciaron hace semanas en que triunfó la película "Los pecadores" y en la gala de los Independent Spirit las más premiadas fueron "Sueños de trenes", "Sorry, baby" y "Lurker".
Hoy lunes 16 de febrero se celebra la gala de entrega de los Black Reel awards a las mejores producciones afroamericanas del año pasado en su vigésimo sexta edición. Cabe recordar que el año pasado fue premiado el film "Nickel boys". Este año el largometraje dirigido por Ryan Coogler obtuvo el récord histórico de estos premios con 21 nominaciones y es el favorito para ser el más premiado en categorías principales de mejor película, dirección y guion, así como en las técnicas.
Por lo que respecta a los apartados interpretativos, por un lado, como mejor actuación protagonista es probable que sea premiado el nominado al Oscar Ryan Coogler aunque hay buenos candidatos como Tessa Thompson, Dwayne Johnson y Jonathan Majors; por el otro, como mejor actuación de reparto destaca la nominada y favorita al Oscar Teyana Taylor, si bien hay que tener en cuenta a Wunmi Mosaku como alternativa y a Delroy Lindo, también nominados al premio de la Academia. Como mejor reparto de actores es probable que sea reconocido el de "Los pecadores" (que puede ganar en el sindicato The Actors) y como mejor intérprete joven tiene ventaja Miles Caton que está en la película más nominada.
Sobre otras categorías importantes, como mejor largometraje de no ficción destaca "Orwell: 2+2=5" aunque también puede ganar "La vecina perfecta", mientras que "Seeds" merece ser reconocido como mejor documental independiente. Por su parte, "La sombra de mi padre podría obtener los premios a mejor película internacional y dirección emergente y "On becoming a Guinea Fowl" los correspondientes a mejor film independiente y primer guion.
Además, "Los pecadores" tiene opciones de arrasar en los rubros técnicos incluyendo los musicales y los de ambientación, en detrimento de "Wicked: parte II".
