Este mes de noviembre arranca la temporada de premios. Mañana domingo día 14 se anunciarán los ganadores de los premios Critics choice de documentales. Cabe recordar que en ediciones anteriores fueron premiados los films de no ficción "Descanse en paz, Dick Johnson" y "Apollo 11".
Este año los títulos más nominados son "Ascension" (galardonado en el festival de Tribeca) y "Summer of soul" (premiado en el festival de Sundance) con seis casa uno. Considero que uno de los más relevantes que tiene posibilidades de triunfar en estos premios es "The rescue", que destacó en su paso por el festival de Toronto donde recibió el premio del público a mejor documental, y podría ganar en las categorías de mejor documental y dirección y llegar hasta los Oscar.
En cuanto a apartados técnicos, cabe señalar la música de Rachel Portman en "Julia" y el montaje de "Summer of soul", que puede ser uno de los más premiados.
Además, como mejor primer documental hay nominados directores de la talla de Todd Haynes y Edgar Wright pero podría ganar el de "Summer of love".
En apartados específicos, como mejor documental político merecería ser reconocido "El crimen del siglo", como mejor film de no ficción de ciencia o naturaleza estaría bien que fuera premiado "Becoming Costeau" y como mejor largometraje deportivo sería adecuado que ganara "The alpinist". Por último, podemos destacar que como mejor documental musical hay un gran nivel con "The Sparks brothers", "Summer of soul" y "The Velvet underground".
