Ha empezado el mes de diciembre y con él la temporada de premios. Esta semana hemos conocido las nominaciones a los premios Goya en que los títulos más nominados son "As bestas", "Modelo 77", "Alcarràs" y "Cinco lobitos" y el Círculo de críticos de Nueva York ha premiado los films "TAR" y "Almas en pena de Inisherin".
Mañana domingo día 4 de diciembre se celebra la gala de entrega de los premios BIFA del cine independiente británico. Cabe recordar que el año pasado fue galardonado el film "Después del amor".
En esta vigésimo quinta edición los títulos más nominados son "Aftersun" con dieciséis, "Blue Jean" con trece y "El prodigio" con doce. Creo que la gran favorita para ganar en categorías principales como mejor largometraje, dirección y guion y en apartados de interpretación es la ópera prima de Charlotte Wells aunque hay que tener en cuenta "Blue Jean" como alternativa.
Por lo que respecta a las categorías de actuación, ante la ausencia de Paul Mescal por "Aftersun" y Emma Thonpson por "Buena suerte, Leo Grande" considero que como mejor interpretación principal pùede ser premiada Rose McEwen por "Blue Jean" aunque hay nominados potentes comno Bill Nighy y Florence Pugh, mientras que como mejor actuación de reparto destaca Paul Mescal por "God's creatures". Como mejor interpretación conjunta merece ganar la de P. Mescal y Frankie Corio por "Aftersun" aunque también podría ser reconocida la de Emma Thompson y Daryl McCormack. Como mejor reparto en general opto por el de "Emily" con nombres como Emma Mackey, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Gemma Jones y Fionn Whitehead y como mejor actuación revelación tiene opciones de ser premiada Frankie Corio o Rose McEwen.
En cuanto a apartados de noveles, como mejor dirección debutante puede ganar Charlotte Wells que podría hacer doblete también en mejor dirección, como mejor guionista y productor debutante es posible que sea premiado el film "Blue Jean" si bien no hay que descartar a "Briand and Charles".
Sobre otros premios importantes, como mejor largometraje de no ficción me decanto por "Nascondino" pero también hay que destacar "Mi infancia, mi país: 20 años en Afganistán", mientras que como mejor debut en documental por "My old school" aunque no hay que olvidar "Nothing compares". Además, como mejor película internacional independiente mi favorita sería la belga "Close" aunque hay candidatas potentes como la surcoreana "Decision to leave", el premio Discovery puede ir para "Rebellion" y como mejor cortometraje opto por "Too rough".
Para acabar, hay que añadir que se anunciaron previamente los ganadores en apartados técnicos en que "Aftersun" obtuvo los premios a mejor fotografía, supervisión musical y montaje que pueden indicar que es la máxima película favorita para triunfar este año. Hay otros films que al menos no se van de vacío ya que "El prodigio" se ha llevado el premio a mejor música y "Living" el de mejor diseño de producción.
