Predicción ganadores premios BIFA 2018:

El día 2 de diciembre se celebra la edición número 21 de los premios del cine independiente británico a las mejores películas del año. A lo largo de sus ediciones han sido premiados como mejores films títulos como "Sexy beast", "Control", "Metro Manila" y "Tierra de Dios" el año pasado. En la presente edición cuentan con más nominaciones "La favorita" de Yorgos Lanthimos con trece, "American animals" de Bart Layton con once, "Beast" de Michael Pearce con diez y "En realidad nunca estuviste allí" de Lynn Ramsey con ocho. Es una buena noticia ver como candidatos notables largometrajes del año pasado como el de Ramsey, "Disobedience" de Sebastián Lelio con cinco nominaciones y "Lean on Pete" de Andrew Haigh con cuatro.Considero que aunque el nivel de candidatos es elevado con "En realidad nunca estuviste allí" y "Beast", destaca "La favorita" que puede ser la gran triunfadora con los premios principales a mejor película, dirección y guion. 

En el apartado actoral, como mejor mejor actriz protagonista hay estupendas interpretaciones de Rachel Weisz y Gemma Artenton pero tiene opciones Olivia Colman por "La favorita". Mientras, como mejor actor protagonista hay candidatos británicos potentes como Steve Coogan, Rupert Everett y Charlie Plummer pero aunque no sea inglés, sobresale Joaquin Phoenix en "En realidad nunca estuviste allí". Por su parte, como mejores intérpretes de reparto, en el apartado femenino están Emma Stone y Rachel Weisz pero opto por Rachel McAdams por "Disobedience" aunque no sea británica. En el apartado masculino están nominados Steve Buscemi, Alessandro Nivola y Barry Keoghan pero quizás tenga posibilidades Dominic West por "Colette". 

Por otro lado es posible que obtenga premios "Beast" de Pearce a mejor dirección debutante, productor revelación, guionista debutante e intérprete revelación para la actriz Jessie Burkley, aunque también hay que tener en cuenta "Apostasy" de Daniel Kokotajlo (con seis nominaciones), "American animals" de Layton y "Ray & Liz" de Richard Billingham. 

Además, en otras categorías, como mejor documental podría ganar "Under the wire" de Christopher Martin y como mejor película internacional las mejores serían la mexicana "Roma" de Alfonso Cuarón, la polaca "Cold war" de Pawel Pawlikowski y la estadounidense "The rider" de Chloé Zhao. El premio Discovery puede ser para "Super November" de Douglas King o para "A moment in the reeds" de Mikko Makela, y el mejor cortometraje sería para "To know him" de Ted Evans. 

Por último, hay que apuntar que ya se han anunciados los premios en las categorías técnicas como mejor casting o fotografía para "La favorita", mejor música para "En realidad nunca estuviste allí" y mejor montaje para "American animals", films destacados para ser premiados en esta edición.
