Otra asociación de críticos de Estados Unidos que anunció sus nominaciones y el día 14 a sus ganadores es la de Denver, que el año pasado premió a "Lady bird".
En la presente edición, "Black panther" es la película más nominada, si bien no lo está como mejor película. Considero que en esta asociación puede ganar en las categorías principales de mejor film y director "El reverendo" de Paul Schrader, que ha tenido el respaldo de los críticos, aunque los favoritos que pueden ser premiados son "Roma" y "La favorita".
En las categorías de actores y actrices, como protagonistas, tiene opciones de ganar Ethan Hawke si su película es premiada, aunque están mejor posicionados Rami Malek y Christian Bale. Olivia Colman es una de las favoritas de su film, si bien hay que tener en cuenta a Melissa McCarthy o Toni Colette, y quizás no tanto a Lady Gaga, ya que "Ha nacido una estrella" no figura en los apartados principales. Como mejores intérpretes secundarios destacan Richard E. Grant y Regina King aunque también sobresalen Mahershaala Ali y Amy Adams.
Sobre los mejores guiones, como original no está "Roma", así que pueden tener ventaja "El reverendo" o "La favorita", mientras que como adaptado creo que merece ganar "El blues de Beale street".
Por su parte, si "Black panther" no es muy galardonada, tiene posibilidades de obtener el premio a los efectos visuales y como mejor película de ciencia ficción o de terror si se lo permiten "Un lugar tranquilo" o "Hereditary".
Además, como mejor largometraje de habla no inglesa, cualquiera aunque en menor medida "Pájaros de verano" puede ser premiado pero esta vez me decanto por la polaca "Cold war".
Para acabar, como mejor comedia, bien puede recibir el premio "Deadpool 2" o "La muerte de Stalin" pero opto por "Crazy rich asians", que ha tenido el apoyo de la crítica.
