CRITICS CHOICE DOCUMENTARY awards 2019:

 El inicio de la temporada de premios va cogiendo forma. Este domingo 10 de noviembre se dan a conocer los ganadores de los premios Critics choice de documentales en concreto, a diferencia de los premios de la crítica en general Critics choice que se entregan más adelante. Los Critics choice documentary awards suponen el comienzo de la carrera por el Oscar a mejor documental. El año pasado ganó en estos premios "Won't you be my neighbour?" de Morgan Neville, uno de los films de no ficción más aclamados del año pasado pero que no logró ser candidato al Oscar. 

En la presente edición parten con más nominaciones "The Biggest Little Farm" con siete, seguida de "Apollo 11" y "They Shall Not Grow Old" con seis. Considero que este año han muy buen nivel en materia de documentales como el estadounindense "American factory", el macedonio "Honeyland" o el británico "They shall not grow old" pero creo que es posible que uno de los favoritos para ganar en las categorías principales de mejor documental y dirección sea el estadounidense "Apollo 11" de Todd Miller, además de que podría obtener algún otro premio técnico más. 

Por otra parte, estaría bien que aunque "Honeyland" no sea estadounidense, fuese galardonado con el premio a mejor dirección debutante o mejor documental de ciencia o naturaleza. 

Además, en otras categorías específicas, como mejor film de no ficción musical merece el premio el trabajo dirigido por Martin Scorsese, sería adecuado que el premio a mejor documental de archivo fuese para "Amazing Grace" o para "Apollo 11" y que ganaran también "Maiden" como mejor documental deportivo y "American factory" como mejor largometraje de no ficción político.

Por último, como mejor documental parecen tener más opciones el último ganador del Oscar en su apartado "Period. End of sentence" o "In the absence".
