Mañana domingo día 5 de febrero se conocerán los ganadores del Círculo de críticos de Londres. Cabe apuntar que el año pasado por estas fechas ganó "El poder del perro" en estos premios.
En esta edición los títulos más nominados son "Almas en pena de Insiherin" de Martin McDonagh con nueve nominaciones y"Aftersun" de Charlotte Wells con ocho, el primero uno de los grandes favoritos de la temporada de premios y el segundo uno de los más aclamados por la crítica. Considero que el film más premiado puede ser "Almas en pena de Inisherin" incluyendo las categorías principales de mejor largometraje, dirección I(aunque no descarto alguna sorpresa de otro director) y guion. Como mejor film británico parece que puede ganar "Aftersun" como alternativa al anterior.
Los apartados de actuación tienen posibilidades de estar dominados por la película de M. McDonagh en mejor actor principal y actriz y actor secundarios correspondientes a Colin Farrell, Kerry Condon y Brendan Gleeson; el primero es uno de los favoritos en los Oscar pero los otros en algún momento fueron preferidos pero ya no lo son. Pou su parte, Cate Blanchett es la favorita este año a mejor actriz protagonista.
En cuanto a otros premios de actuación, como mejores intérpretes británicos o irlandeses destaca el veterano Bill Night o Paul Mescal (ambos candidatos al Oscar) y Emma Thompson (nominada al premio BAFTA).
Sobre los premios de revelación, en mejor dirección novel está claro que ganaría Charlotte Wells y como mejor actuación revelación destaca Frankie Corio también por "Aftersun"
Además, en otras categorías señaladas, como mejor largometraje extranjero los votantes se pueden decantar por el irlandés "The quiet girl" (hablado en galeico) o "Decision to leave" (que está en mejor película), cuya fotografía sobresale como mejor logro técnico.
Por otro lado, como mejor film de no ficción tiene opciones "All that breathes" aunque también puede ganar "Fire of love" y, por último, como mejor cortometraje opto por "A fox in the night".
