Hoy viernes 3 de marzo se celebra la gala de entrega de los Satellite awards que concede la Academia internacional de prensa. Cabe recordar que el año anterior fueron premiadas las películas "El poder del perro" y "Dune".
En la presente vigésimo séptima edición los títulos que obtuvieron más nominaciones son "Top gun: Maverick" con diez, "Los Fabelman", "Elvis" y "Babylon" con nueve cada uno y "Almas en pena de Inisherin" con ocho. En las categorías principales como mejor largometraje dramático creo que "Los Fabelman" lo tiene más facil para ganar, teniendo en cuenta que en mejor película de comedia puede estar reñida entre "Todo a la vez en todas partes" y "Almas en pena de Inisherin". En mejor dirección, puede llevarse el premio Steven Spielberg, sin los hermanos Daniels nominados.
En los apartados interpretativos, como mejores protagonistas dramáticos destacan los favoritos Cate Blanchett y Brendan Fraser (ganaron en los Critics choice awards) mientras que como mejores intérpretes principales cómicos sobresalen Michelle Yeoh y Austin Butler. Como mejores actuaciones secundarias creo que en estos premios tiene opciones de ser premiada Kerry Condon aunque hay que tener en cuenta a Ke Huy Quan y Angela Bassett que son los preferidos en la carrera.
Por su parte, como mejores guiones, en original tiene posibilidades de ganar el film de los Daniels o el de M. McDonagh y en adaptado el favorito parece el de "Ellas hablan" de Sarah Polley.
Sobre otras categorías significativas, como mejor largometraje animado ganaría "Pinocho de Guillermo del Toro", como mejor film de no ficción uno de los más relevantes es "La belleza y el dolor" y como mejor película extranjera opto por la surcoreana "Decision to leave" (que se ha quedado fuera del quinteto finalista en los Oscar).
Además, en los rubros técnicos,"Top gun: Maverick" tiene opciones de obtener los correspondientes a mejor fotografía (ausente en los Oscar), montaje (si no lo gana el film de los Daniels) y sonido, estaría bien que "Babylon" se llevara los premios a mejor banda sonora original y diseño de producción y "Avatar: el sentido del agua" es probable que gane el de mejores efectos visuales.

En el ámbito de producciones televisivas, el año pasado fueron galardonadas la miniserie "Mare of Easttown" y las series "Succession" y "Ted Lasso".
Este año el título que tiene más nominaciones es "Better call Saul" con cuatro y es posible que sea el que obtenga más premios incluyendo mejor serie dramática mientras que en mejor serie de género merece ganar "Separación", así como "Hacks" en comedia (sin "Colegio Abbott" en el apartado principal)
Por lo que respecta a las categorías interpretativas protagonistas, como mejores actuaciones de drama los mejores posicionados serían Bob Odenkirk y Zendaya (premiados en los Critic choice) aunque no hay que descatar a Adam Scott, Jeremy Allen White (está en drama y no en comendia) y Laura Linney. En los apartados de comedia parece que suenan con más fuerza Bill Hader y Jean Smart, a no ser que sea la alternativa Quinta Brunson.
Por otra parte, como mejor miniserie o telefilm hay producciones estimables como "Monstruo: la historia de Jeffrey Dahmer" aunque opto por "La ciudad es nuestra". Como mejores interpretaciones principales tienen opciones de ser premiados Evan Peters y Jessica Biel y como secundarios Giancarlo Esposito y Cynthia Nixon.
