Después de darse a conocer esta semana las nominaciones a los Globos de oro y los Critics choice awards, ayer se anunciaron los ganadores de la Asociación de críticos de Chicago, una de las más importantes de Estados Unidos junto con la de Los Ángeles, la de Boston y el Círculo de críticos de Nueva York que reconoció al largometraje "Drive my car". Cabe recordar que el año pasado ganó en esta asociación "Nomadland".
En la presente edición "West side story" era el título más nominado con once nominaciones pero se ha ido de vacío mientras que ha obtenido siete premios "El poder del perro" incluyendo las categorías principales de mejor película, dirección y guion adaptado, y "Licorice pizza" ha ganado como mejor guion original.
En los apartados interpretativos han ganado Benedict Cumberbatch y Kristen Stewart como protagonistas y Kodi Smit-McPhee y Ruth Negga como secundarios, por encima de candidatos como Andrew Garfield, Jessica Chastain, Bradley Cooper y Caitriona Balfe.
Por lo que respecta a otras categorías importantes, como mejor largometraje animado ha sido premiado "Flee", como mejor film de no ficción "Summer of soul" y como mejor cinta extranjera "Drive my car".
Además, en cuanto a los rubros técnicos, se han repartido entre "El poder del perro" en mejor fotografía y banda sonora y "La crónica francesa" en mejor diseño de producción y montaje.
Para acabar, en los apartados de revelación, como mejor dirección ha ganado Michael Sarnoski por "Pig" y como mejor intérprete Alana Haim por "Licorice pizza".
